The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has initiated an internal review concerning reports related to the conduct and discipline of national team players Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan during Pakistan’s ongoing Test tour of England.
The board confirmed on Monday that an inquiry is underway but did not disclose the exact nature of the concerns being examined. PCB Media Director Amir Mir stated that the matter is being handled internally and that all proceedings will be conducted in accordance with the board’s established rules and regulations.
The development comes at a challenging time for the national side, which suffered defeats in the opening two Test matches against England. Following those losses, Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan were among seven players who returned to Pakistan, a decision that prompted speculation about possible issues within the squad.
While various reports have linked the inquiry to matters of discipline and team conduct, the PCB has not publicly confirmed any specific allegations. The board has also dismissed speculation regarding any particular offence and has emphasized that the review process remains ongoing.
According to the PCB, all individuals involved will be given a fair opportunity to present their position, and any decisions will be made after the completion of the internal assessment.
