After winning the toss, England elected to field first and immediately put Pakistan under pressure. The top order failed to settle, with Saim Ayub departing without scoring, Azan Awais managing 9 runs, and Abdullah Shafique contributing only 3. Soon after, Shan Masood was dismissed for 6, leaving Pakistan in serious trouble at 26-4.
The difficulties continued when captain Babar Azam was bowled by Josh Tongue for 7 runs, further deepening Pakistan’s problems. England’s bowlers maintained tight control throughout the innings, preventing any meaningful partnerships from developing.
Tongue was the standout performer for the hosts, claiming four wickets, while Ollie Robinson also made an impact with key breakthroughs. Robinson reached a personal milestone during the innings by taking his 100th Test wicket, achieved when he dismissed Saim Ayub.
Among Pakistan’s batters, Saud Shakeel provided the most resistance with a fighting knock of 43 runs, attempting to stabilize the innings under difficult circumstances. Lower-order batter Mohammad Abbas chipped in with 21 runs, but Pakistan struggled to build momentum.
The visitors were eventually bowled out in 33.5 overs, finishing on 133 runs. The match came with added pressure for Pakistan, as England had already secured a 2-0 lead in the three-match series before the start of the final Test.
Pakistan will now look to produce a stronger all-round performance as they aim to avoid a series whitewash and finish the tour on a more positive note.
