Jonathan Taylor Thomas Arrested After Traffic Stop Incident in Westlake Village
Westlake Village, California: Former child actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas was arrested on Monday following an incident during a traffic stop, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities said deputies noticed a vehicle stopped at a green light at the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Townsgate Road, causing traffic to back up. Officers approached the vehicle to check whether the driver required assistance.
During the encounter, deputies reportedly observed signs that the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol and began conducting field sobriety tests.
According to officials, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, whose legal name is Jonathan Taylor Thomas Weiss, was a passenger in the vehicle. Deputies alleged that he repeatedly left the vehicle and approached officers while they were carrying out their investigation.
Law enforcement officials said Weiss appeared to be intoxicated and continued to interrupt the ongoing traffic stop. When deputies attempted to detain him on suspicion of public intoxication and obstruction, he allegedly kicked one of the deputies in the stomach.
Following the incident, Weiss was taken into custody and booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.
The driver of the vehicle was also arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities said no formal charges have been filed at this stage. The case is expected to be reviewed by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, which will decide whether any charges should move forward.
