Islamabad March: Security Forces Equipped With Advanced Technology and Modern Equipment

Islamabad: The federal government has reportedly strengthened security arrangements ahead of a possible march toward the capital by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters.

According to multiple sources, law enforcement agencies have been provided with modern equipment and advanced technology to help manage the situation if protesters move toward Islamabad.

A senior official familiar with the security preparations said authorities have applied lessons learned from previous protests and demonstrations. He noted that security planning has been expanded significantly compared to earlier operations.

The official said around 38,000 security personnel have been deployed for the current situation. In comparison, fewer than 20,000 personnel were deployed during PTI’s previous march toward the federal capital.

Officials believe the larger deployment will improve coordination and strengthen the overall security response. They also said personnel have been given access to updated equipment and technology aimed at improving monitoring, communication, and operational effectiveness.

The preparations reportedly take into account experiences from previous major protests, including PTI’s November 2024 march and other large-scale demonstrations witnessed in recent years.

Another official confirmed that the number of personnel deployed this time is considerably higher than in previous operations, reflecting the government's focus on maintaining security and public order.

Authorities have not provided further details about the equipment being used, but officials say security agencies are fully prepared to respond to any situation that may arise during the planned demonstrations.
