The company, known for developing highly realistic AI-generated voice technology, completed a $300 million secondary share transaction led by investment firms Wellington Management and T. Rowe Price. The deal allowed existing investors and employees to sell shares while attracting new institutional backers.
The latest valuation is double the company’s previous value from February, when ElevenLabs raised $500 million in funding from prominent venture capital firms, including Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and Iconiq Capital.
With a valuation of $22 billion, ElevenLabs now ranks among the most highly valued AI companies outside China, reflecting growing investor interest in the rapidly expanding artificial intelligence sector.
Chief Executive Officer Mati Staniszewski said the transaction helped bring in long-term investors such as Goldman Sachs and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC. He noted that additional investor support is important as AI companies compete intensely to attract and retain top research talent.
According to Staniszewski, the company remains focused on long-term growth and aims to be in a position to consider an initial public offering (IPO) within the next few years, although no final decision has been made.
Founded in 2022 by Mati Staniszewski and Piotr DÄ…bkowski, ElevenLabs has experienced rapid growth. The startup was valued at just $9 million when it was launched, while Nvidia joined as a strategic investor in 2025.
The company’s technology is used by a wide range of organizations, including telecommunications providers Deutsche Telekom and KPN, as well as governments, financial technology firms, and other global enterprises.
The valuation boost comes shortly after ElevenLabs introduced its fourth-generation AI voice model, which the company says delivers significant improvements in longer and more natural conversations.
Unlike many AI software firms that rely on third-party models, ElevenLabs develops and trains its own AI systems using dedicated computing infrastructure. This approach gives the company greater control over its technology while allowing it to deliver customized voice solutions worldwide.
ElevenLabs now operates in 20 countries and has expanded its workforce to more than 800 employees, more than doubling its staff over the past year. While its largest office remains in London, the company continues to grow its international presence as demand for AI voice technology increases across global markets.
