Eliana Moreno, a respected aerial journalist with NBC Los Angeles and Telemundo 52, was among those who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Chatsworth, Los Angeles, while covering a breaking news incident on September 15.
According to NBC Los Angeles, Moreno was on board the station’s news helicopter alongside pilot George Marciniw when the aircraft went down. Authorities also reported a third fatality on the ground, while another person was injured. The condition of the injured individual has not yet been disclosed.
The helicopter had been reporting on a serious traffic collision involving an SUV and a Metro bus in Chatsworth. Early reports indicated that the road accident resulted in multiple casualties and injuries. Following the loss of contact with the aircraft, NBC later confirmed that the crashed helicopter belonged to the network.
