Government Releases Rs. 12.2 Million to Petrol Pumps Under Fuel Relief Program
The government has disbursed Rs. 12.2 million to 868 petrol pumps across Pakistan under the Prime Minister’s Petrol Relief Scheme, settling claims submitted for September 16.
The initiative provides registered beneficiaries with a Rs. 100 per litre petrol subsidy, offering financial assistance to consumers dealing with rising fuel costs.
Officials say the programme’s digital platform is now fully functional, enabling eligible citizens to receive the subsidy directly at participating fuel stations nationwide.
The scheme has attracted significant public interest, with nearly one million people already registered to benefit from the fuel assistance programme.
To improve transparency and prevent misuse, authorities have also implemented real-time monitoring systems that track subsidised fuel transactions and help ensure that benefits are delivered only to verified recipients through the approved mechanism.
The government says these measures are aimed at making the subsidy programme more efficient while ensuring that financial relief reaches those who qualify for support.
