Hayden Panettiere’s Parents Reportedly Disagreed Over Earrings Removed After Her Death
A coroner’s report has revealed that Hayden Panettiere’s divorced parents were reportedly involved in a disagreement over a pair of earrings that were removed from the actress after her death.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, several stud earrings were taken from Panettiere’s body during official procedures and placed inside a sealed purple plastic evidence bag. The report states that a senior deputy was given custody of the jewellery and later contacted the actress’ parents, Alan “Skip” Panettiere and Lesley Vogel, regarding her personal belongings.
The report claims that both parents expressed interest in receiving the earrings. Because there was no immediate agreement on who should take possession of the items, authorities decided not to release the jewellery to either parent at that time.
Instead, officials informed the former couple that the earrings would remain in official custody until an agreement could be reached concerning Panettiere’s belongings. The documents do not clarify whether the dispute was later settled or if the earrings were eventually released to either parent.
The report also notes that Skip Panettiere attended his daughter’s funeral, while Lesley Vogel reportedly did not attend despite having received an invitation.
Hayden Panettiere, who gained widespread recognition for her performances in television series such as Heroes and Nashville, died at the age of 36.
Authorities ruled her death accidental. According to the coroner’s findings, the cause of death was linked to the toxic effects of fentanyl along with other substances. The issue surrounding the earrings was handled separately from the investigation into her death, with the jewellery remaining in official custody until a decision regarding ownership could be made.
The report focuses on the handling of Panettiere’s personal belongings and does not indicate that the disagreement affected the official determination of her cause of death.
